  THE GOOD: They did reimburse me for my smoothie pass. After I asked two seperate managers. Thanks guys. It is clean and I really liked the treadmills. And there was one super sweet staff there who works in the child minding. She was kind and genuine; Definitely the sparkle at VI Fitness. For her, I give another star.

  I have too many complaints so I'll just pick one: I never got a phone call returned. My last attempt, the manger I spoke with promised me a call back. I requested the phone number so I could call instead of waiting. She refused. Said that I would just have to trust her. I'm still waiting for that phone call. One of the unreturned phone calls put me past the deadline to have my money returned. So I was charged. Was told I was past my deadline. It's hard to be polite when treated so badly, hence this review.

  They give rewards for reviews and are pushy with sales. It's a nice enough gym unless you are unfortunate enough to have an issue. Feedback is not handled professionally and management chooses punitive actions instead of simply training her staff. Dumb! I feel badly for the staff. And the higher up you go, the worse it gets. Management loves to talk. I highly doubt this gym will last with the current managers. I don't believe either of the women I spoke with have any hospitality or business training. They seemed rather ignorant; like they learned about management from dramas on tv.

  Great staff and very friendly, did one drop in class with a friend and now I’m hooked. Staff answered all our questions and made this newbie feel better about getting healthy!

  THE BAD: One of the trainers wrote some pretty nasty opinions about my sister on her registration file for all the other staff to read (You may want to ask to read your file from time to time should you sign up as it was explained to me that staff write notes in files to keep everyone in the know). We happened to read it when checking in one evening. When my sister asked for her money back management refused, however told me that the staff involved would be "reprimanded" as there is "zero tolerance for this behavior" as if we wanted the staff punished or something. Like some how knowing that management punishes their staff will make me feel like I want to attend the gym again or something equally ridiculous. Zero empathy from staff or managment and no one seemed to recognize how unwelcoming a situation like that would be for two first timers.

  I went in one evening alone and when I was leaving at 9:45 the two staff were standing, jackets on, ready to leave: ok i get it you guys, I'm leaving; I'm leaving, sheesh! My sister and I both quit within 4 weeks. (By the way I've been attending another gym downtown for two months now with better hours, classes on demand, and way better treadmills, and couldn't be happier)
